Factors to Consider When Deciding
How to Choose an Implant Dentist

When deciding on how to choose an implant dentist for your upcoming procedure, it is important to choose a dentist with the appropriate experience, certifications, and in-office technology to ensure comfortable, successful treatment outcomes. Dr. Amy Creech-Gionis has received advanced training in dental implants and uses the most sophisticated tools to provide outstanding results. For patients with dental anxiety, Dr. Creech-Gionis is also certified to administer anesthesia, allowing you to relax during your procedure. Placing and restoring dental implants at our Tampa, FL, practice allows us to provide you with convenient treatment from start to finish. You can begin your treatment at one of our two convenient locations in Westchase and Carrollwood.

Addressing Your Questions and Concerns

When considering dental implants, we understand that you have several questions and concerns. Finding the right implant dentist is an essential first step to helping you feel comfortable entering treatment. As an implant dentist, Dr. Creech-Gionis is committed to providing answers to your questions prior to treatment.

How Fast Can You Complete Treatment?

Restorative treatment is a long-term commitment to your oral health, and we understand that you need a doctor who can perform your entire treatment. Dr. Creech-Gionis can place your implants and provide the finishing restoration, which is something that not all dentists do. Many dentists will refer you to an oral surgeon or outside specialist for dental implants, requiring you to make several appointments and coordinate with multiple offices at once. At our office, we can guide you through your entire treatment, from planning your surgery to choosing and creating your custom crowns, bridges, or dentures.

Our office combines experienced care, state-of-the-art technology, and comprehensive treatment to help you get the treatment you need faster and more comfortably.

What If I Suffer from Dental Anxiety?

An IV bagIf you are nervous about your upcoming surgery or have an especially complex case, you may want to consider undergoing sedation during your procedure. If your dentist is not certified to administer sedation, he or she will need to hire an outside anesthetist for your surgery, which can be an expensive added service. Dr. Creech-Gionis has received advanced training and certification from Georgia Health Sciences University to perform intravenous (IV) sedation. She is able to administer sedation herself and respond in the unlikely event of an emergency, eliminating the cost of an outside anesthetist.

Is Your Dentist Experienced?

Receiving dental implants is a large undertaking, and it is important to choose a doctor who stands out among her peers. As a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI), Dr. Creech-Gionis has partaken in continuing education and research initiatives within the field of dental implants.

What Sets Your Dentist Apart?

In addition to experience and accreditation, technology is an important part of dental implant treatment and can be used to plan and place implants with less pain and higher success rates. Our office uses a cone beam CT scanner to assess the health of your bone prior to surgery and determine whether a bone graft or sinus lift is necessary. By restoring lost bone tissue, Dr. Creech-Gionis can provide a healthy, stable foundation for your new implants and lower the risk of implant failure. When planning your surgery, Dr. Creech-Gionis also uses your 3-D images to observe your biostructures and plan placement where it will not disrupt any nerves or sinuses.
